Eugene Mirman

Who or what is Eugene Mirman? Eugene Mirman is a comedian, writer, and film maker based in New York City (where, according to commercials, salsa is terrible). As a child, he emigrated from Russia and experienced a John Cusack 80's high school movie life. Eugene attended Hampshire College in Western Massachusetts, where he designed his own Comedy major.

Eugene has his own half-hour special on Comedy Central and has appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Last Call with Carson Daly, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, The Colbert Report and John Oliver's New York Stand Up Show. He has also had memorable recurring roles on HBO's Flight of the Conchords, Cartoon Network's Home Movies and Adult Swim's live action series Delocated. He also played a spokes-potato on Food Network and a suspected arsonist on Third Watch.

Eugene’s latest album, God is a Twelve-Year-Old Boy with Asperger's, is available now from Sub Pop Records. He has also released two other albums, En Garde, Society! and Suicide Squeezes' The Absurd Nightclub Comedy of Eugene Mirman, which was voted Best of 2004 by both The Onion and Time Out New York. He is also an author, having recently published The Will To Whatevs, an outlandish self-help guide to modern life, for Harper Collins. He was named one of the 10 Best Comedians of the Decade by Paste Magazine and the Village Voice named him the Best Stand-Up Comedian of 2009.

Eugene has appeared at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, Bumbershoot, and South By Southwest. He has performed as part of Patton Oswalt's Comedians of Comedy, and has toured with Yo La Tengo, Modest Mouse, The Shins, Cake, and John Wesley Harding, as well as Flight of the Conchords and Stella. He has produced the EUGENE MIRMAN COMEDY FESTIVAL, the first ever ironic and sincere comedy festival, in the falls of 2008 and 2009 in Brooklyn NYC. He recently covered the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen for Grist.org and is currently working on the second season of Adult Swim's Delocated and Fox's animated primetime comedy Bob's Burgers.
